Terminology management

Our expert translators have a thorough understanding of your technical language needs. We create terminology list for approval prior to translating to make sure we are using your company's specific terms.

Through the use of our computer-assisted translation tools we are able to create terminology databases, allowing for faster and more consistent translation.

Large volume translations

Powerling has translated several thousand pages into multiple languages within extremely aggressive timelines. We can carefully divide the project among teams of expert translators who work simultaneously in order to shorten the turnaround time while maintaining consistency throughout the document.

To ensure the consistency of the documents, the translators work simultaneously on Deja Vu TEAMserver.

Better return on investment

Through our Deja Vu computer assisted translation technology, we create corporate translation memories that can increase your ROI by up to 30%.

Translation memories are client-based databases that:

  • Improves the productiveness and cohesiveness of your translated documents
  • Optimizes translation time: quicker turnaround
  • Optimizes costs

Our expertise

Powerling has years of experience with Manufacturing clients!

Specific language expertise and production process

Manufacturing and distribution companies require extensive documentation, from benchmarking reports and technical fact sheets to engineering specifications and maintenance handbooks. Powerling’s proactive approach to supporting industrial clients ensures a firm grasp of their structure, audience(s), constraints, and technical specifications.

Powerling selects project managers, translators, and proofreaders for their language skills and experience in your specific technical line of business, including aeronautics, civil engineering, environmental, agri-food, chemicals, automotive, industrial machinery, and more.

The assigned project manager analyzes the files prior to translation and coordinates translators, proofreaders, and experts. We also set up a steering committee, supervised by an industry expert, to oversee and approve the necessary steps to successfully translate the technical documents.

Our language specialists:

  • Our specialist translators only work into their native language

Timelines and Volume

Getting products to market means ensuring that all documentation is ready to go on time.

Our standard turnaround for technical translation is approximately 1,600 words per day. Our turnaround for proofreading is approximately 10,000 words per day.

To accommodate urgent requests, we can set up teams of translators and proofreaders on the same project. For example, one of our chemical manufacturing customers asked POWERLING to translate a 60,000-word market approval document in just 10 working days. It would generally take a single translator more than a month to translate something that size. Instead, we set up a team of six translators, six proofreaders, and three expert reviewers, supervised by a project manager, all of whom collaborated to get the job done accurately and on time.

Terminology Management

Translation for the manufacturing and distribution industry must be precise in its use of proper terminology.

In order to meet the technical specifications, we create and/or import a glossary, making note of any repetition, to ensure consistent terminology use throughout the text. We work in specialized formats (AutoCAD, InDesign, etc.), so we can deliver translations that are in line with your original format requirements.
